In my classroom, I utilize play-based and blended learning stations to help my kindergartners grow into the very best students they can be! I will be able to use the building blocks, architect builders, bridge engineering materials, Squigs, and Qubits in these daily stations to help develop students' engineering, problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. I will also be able to use the Spirograph set to help students better understand design, and pre-planning in art! These STEAM materials will prove invaluable in helping develop their fine motor skills as well, which is so important for five and six-year-olds! By donating to this project, you will help champion my students having the chance to be inventive, to make mistakes, and to learn to be resilient. I want them to take chances with building materials, to create images that match what they have pictured in their imaginations, and have hands-on chances to grow their social and academic skills. We are able to use our school's STEAM lab once a week, but I want to be able to provide my students with the materials to build in our classroom. I strongly believe that the freedom to explore with art and science are vital to their growth as students, and I am excited to be able to give them the chance to do so.
