The use of these Chromebooks would be life changing for my students. Coming from a low income high need area, students are not exposed to many of the benefits of technology that many other students have. It is important for students that attend this transitional program to learn the importance of work skills with technology and computer programs in order to be successful in the work place. Our computer center has only one working computer that is, unfortunately, not enough to teach students what they need to know about how to use computers. Students with learning disabilities do best with as much visual stimulation as possible. Using these Chromebooks can enhance students learning day to day with the use of pictures, videos and audio. They will be able to complete and submit assignments through programs like Google Docs and Nearpod and be part of reading programs such as Reading A-Z, Achieve 3000 and Wilson. These programs not only bring their academics to another level, but it helps put their goals into reality so they are prepared for the work place after they graduate.
