I will be teaching two sections of 4th grade Math and Science this school year. This project will benefit both of them, and future fourth graders. These students attend a public school in Michigan and love to get outside, despite the too few opportunities to do so. Most of my students come from low-income homes, some from broken families or dangerous sections of town, and many have stresses children shouldn't have to face. Yet, they want so much to learn and to better themselves. The "a-ha!" moments are numerous in our classrooms as kids push past their obstacles to soak up knowledge and share what they've learned. We look forward to extending our inquiry-based learning this school year!
