We have been learning a lot about book series with our current unit of study, which has led me to see we are in need of more high interest series books in our classroom library. We are studying character development throughout the series and really digging deep to analyze characters. Next we will be moving on to studying the author's craft used by series authors, and discovering the particular techniques each author uses. My students need high interest series books that will capture their attention and have them coming back for more!! Series books are great for young developing readers because they learn to love the characters as dear friends; and having multiple books in these series allows kids to find what they are interested in, dig deep, and stick with it.
