The balance ball chairs that I've selected will be added to my existing flexible seating options in my fully inclusive classroom. When I began teaching 6 years ago, I had students sitting in chairs set up in rows. The following year, I decided to give flexible seating a try, and it changed my teaching forever. My students have embraced the responsibility that coincides with the freedom of choice. Giving students a choice in where they work within my classroom has increased their engagement, productivity, and collaboration. They've become better communicators, and they're able to work in a spot that helps them focus on the task at hand. The balance ball chairs have the added benefit of improving core strength while allowing them to work out some of their wiggles.
