Schools today are technology driven and this way of learning is very engaging and excites the students in multiple ways. Having iPads in my classroom available for my students will allow them with multiple opportunities. These iPads can be used to practice skills that the students are weak in and also challenge the students who are excelling. It can allow for the students to take virtual field trips. The school that I am located at is about an hour and a half from Myrtle Beach; but since the school has such a high poverty rate, many of the students have never even touched the ocean. A research based article stated that iPads can provide students with access to a "virtual flyover tour of more than 250 cities and destinations around the globe." This would be a great way for the students to experience those things that otherwise they would never have the opportunity to. The iPads can provide the students with a variety of multi-media apps that are designed for their exact level of needs. Students can even collaborate with students from other schools, states, or around the world while using these iPads. My project is focused on providing small group and independent work where my students will be able to practice skills, create slide shows, take pictures, read texts, and collaborate in all subject areas with an emphasis on STEM learning. My students will use this technology to access numerous materials for research and written communication!
Having this technology in my classroom will provide numerous opportunities beyond the textbook. By donating to my project you will help increase my students' academic achievement! Will you be our partner in learning?
