I teach music and musical theater to Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students in a Gifted and Talented Magnet Elementary School set in a low-income section of our city. Our school and my theater class contain a wonderful range of students from widely diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Each year, we offer two musical theater electives - one for K-2 students and one for 3-5 students - which offer these children exposure to and first-hand experience in the arts in a very special way.
