At the core of the Life Skills classroom are strategies for supporting students to move towards their individual educational and daily living goals. In four short years, students must learn to navigate their environment, gain skills that will propel them toward some measure of independence, and prepare for post secondary and career possibilities. My students would use these foundational books to gain knowledge about real life situations awaiting them, and to gain skills to prepare for and manage these situations. They need practical, leveled books that present everyday topics (money management, shopping skills, meal preparation) in ways they can understand and process. This book series is especially relevant to their daily and future needs.
