My students need a larger variety of books in our classroom library to expand their interest in reading. Graphic novels will make a big difference in my students' fluency and interest. Graphic novels help students feel confident in their reading ability by using pictures to help with decoding and maintaining interest. These materials will open doors for my students that I cannot afford to open on my own. Graphic novels will improve their literacy skills, decoding strategies, confidence, and life long interest in reading. Please help me open the world of graphic novels into my classroom so students can escape into the world of reading.
