"If a child can not learn the way we teach, then we must teach the way the child can learn" - Dr. Lovaas All students are created equally but differently. Every child learns at a different pace and in a different way . Each learning style refers to a preferential way that a student absorbs, comprehends, and assesses information. My students need to have the opportunity to learn with their unique learning style to bridge the gap of academics and avoid learning challenges and triggers. I began this project to meet different needs of 12 students with various disabilities. I am requesting 4 Chromebooks for students to use during instruction, independent work, as well as guided practice. Chromebooks will allow student access to curriculum and avoid learning challenges they may experience. Chromebooks allow access to additional resources to support learning as well as specialized apps, screen readers, text to speech, speech to text, collaboration tools and more tools to meet learning styles as well as assist in learning. I am also requesting standing desks, vidget chair, and fidget pencils to allow students to receive different sensory outputs and sensory inputs they need to remain focused. All students will demonstrate full engagement in a learning environment uniquely designed and universally designed to meet their learning needs.
