We all know how important exercise is for our bodies, mind, and soul. Daily activity keeps us happy and healthy because when we exercise we produce endorphins, a chemical that promotes our well-being. Exercise also helps lower depression and boost self-esteem. Experts suggest that a teen should get at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day. By giving our students an opportunity to exercise while completing the Succeed Boston program we believe we will be fostering their social emotional learning capacity by promoting a healthy body and brain and in consequence creating a better experience. With your support we will transform a classroom into a "mindfulness" room where we will hold yoga classes and circuit classes also with a combination of weight lifting and cardio. We are hoping to be able to buy a rowing machine and some kettle bells for these classes as well as stability balls. We already received a donation of yoga mats from the Health and Wellness department of BPS.
