I am the Health Teacher at P256Q@43. P256Q has six different sites. Our school is in District 75, which services children with various special needs. Some examples of my students’ special needs are autism, intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities and emotional disturbances. The surrounding community has a large percentage of low-socioeconomic families. Although our school site is located in close proximity to the gorgeous Rockaway Beaches, the community itself could use a little TLC when it comes to aesthetics. Creating beautiful birdhouses to hang from the trees surrounding our school site would add a level of beautification as well as a safe place for birds to nest and live.
