Technology is essential to thrive in today's world. In order to teach a student, you have to speak their language. Today's language of students is simple: technology. Many of my students come from low-income homes without the internet or access to computers. It is imperative that students understand online and media literacy to acquire the skills they need to be successful. Incorporating technology into lessons is one of the best ways to increase student engagement; unfortunately, I am unable to provide my students with a 1:1 technology ratio. Having a set of tablets in my classroom to incorporate and encourage safe and responsible use of technology, and allow students to use technology for something other than social media.
