Our students are craving more books for our classroom library. This library is shared by all three classes of sixth-grade students. Our expectation is that our students are reading for pleasure when their work is complete. We also practice Book Love once a week to give students time in class to read for pleasure and to talk about the books they are reading. “Never trust anyone who has not brought a book with them.” ― Lemony Snicket. This series is now on Netflix and many students never read the books. This particular set of books will engage their minds and keep them reading through all 13 books. We like this quote because we expect students to always have a book with them.
