I will be able to use the LeapReader pens along with the LeapReader books and flash cards that I have already purchased to facilitate this project. The pens help the students sound out words and even reads the entire sentence if needed. Students will work independently, in small groups, centers, and whole group with the pens. I feel like this will make a difference in my students' ability to read and master all of the kindergarten standards. I know the students will be very excited to use this type of technology/manipulative, and I look forward to hearing my children read books independently. My students dream of the day when they can pick out a book and read the entire book by themselves. My students are reading with much needed assistance and need to be able to read by themselves. This project will help promote independence, self-confidence, as well as becoming a good reader.
