My test scores increase an average of 30% or more when calculators are used in my classroom. We are currently sharing calculators, and I would like to ensure that each student has one of their own. It is crucial for these students to understand how calculators function, what each function (button) represents, and how a calculator creates more efficiency in math, not replaces the need for understanding the processes. The duration of our math lessons has decreased by 15 minutes a day! This helps decrease homework time, alleviate minor arithmetic errors, and lower frustration levels for students who typically gravitate away from math education.
