Hardly any of our students have access to technology at home. The time spent at school is the only time they will gain the knowledge they'll need for the 21st century workplace. With our students having the potential to become scientists, engineers, and many other STEM related professionals, we want to give them an opportunity to develop the qualities needed for these careers. We will use the LEGO Mindstorm EV3 to participate in regional and state level competitions, through service learning projects, volunteering, and computer programming. Through the First Inspires - First LEGO League, students are given the challenge of identifying, researching, and solving a real-world issue. They also design, build, and program the Mindstorm EV3 to compete on a playing field against other teams across the state. Throughout the season, students develop critical thinking and collaboration skills, apply STEM concepts, and present solutions to a judging panel.
