3D VR & AR Environments create active, immersive, engaging, & exploratory experiences in every classroom. The one classroom set (20 headsets) will be shared throughout the building. We, the ninth grade students at the all-male RBHS in Washington, DC would like to activate our learning experiences by including augmented reality and virtual reality episodes in our learning. For example, in our Computer Science classroom, we can see our programs come to life in 3D virtual graphics. As we share the VR headset classroom set of twenty around the school, in our World History class, we could travel to a slave trade occurrence in history. In our Biology class, we could watch cell mitosis happen before our eyes as we learn about HELA cells. In our Spanish class, we could experience a grueling bull fight. In our ELA class, we could visit a civil rights historic event to create the sense of time and place which helps us comprehend the emotions inside the literary works we read in class. And in math class we could ride in a rocket when talking about velocity and acceleration over time and how it is affected when breaking through the atmosphere. Students will train teachers on how to use the Virtual Reality headsets in their classroom for instruction when we share them out to other classrooms. Having the Virtual Reality headsets will allow us to immerse, activate, excite, enthuse, and engage in our learning. In this way, we will innovate the way we learn which develops our imagination for innovation beyond our classroom. We will become tomorrow's change makers.
