The research is clear. Students who engage in classroom physical activity are more attentive and less likely to be disruptive. This DonorsChoose project will build on this idea and bring Hokki Stools to our room. In turn, students, while "seated," will be able to move and swivel during instruction. This student-centered classroom redesign will ensure that children have seating options that work best for them. Hokki Stools allow for a more responsive classroom approach, greater personalized learning, and flexible seating. The basic design of a classroom has remained unchanged for over 40 years. This despite the fact that we know that long stretches in traditional chairs can negatively effect health and academics. Help contemporize our learning environment and prepare our students for the 21st Century.
