Chromebooks in the classroom gives the opportunity for so many children to expand and enhance their learning. My students live in a low-income city and do not always have access to technology in and outside of school. But they must have the experience with computers to be successful in life. The use of technology in the classroom allows the children to become (and stay) engaged in their learning. Being engaged in your learning is one of the first things you need to be successful. Having daily access to Chromebooks would allow my students to utilize numerous educational websites, such as IXL and Epic Books! It would also allow my students to type writing assignments, which is a very important skill they need to have to successfully continue their education and excel in their careers. The value of Chromebooks goes far beyond the classroom.
