Our curriculum is encouraging us to integrate more science, technology, engineering, and math into our daily lessons called STEM. Exposing my prekindergartners to these type of activities will enable them to stay focused. I am asking for a light table and some materials to go along with the light table. For example, animal x-rays, clear magna tiles, building blocks, construction sets, translucent pattern blocks, water beads, liquid motion bubbler, and counting chips. These materials will enable their young minds to turn into the creators, risk takers, problem solvers, achievers, innovators, and inventors of our future, and will set a strong learning foundation. STEM's higher thinking concepts create a community of learners that will be more willing to explore new ideas, and endless discoveries. My students would benefit from these material because it will capture their interest right from the start. They will be more willing to use the light table to explore these new concepts. The possibilites are endless. I can't wait to see what they discover this year!
