Sitting at a normal desk and chair are a thing of the past . Research has shown that students do their best learning and work when they are given the option to work wherever and however they choose. That is why I would like to give my students flexible seating options in my classroom. I have already discovered that when I let them choose their own seat, whether that be at a desk or laying on the floor, their behavior is better and work actually gets done. And now, when they are to complete their independent practice work, the first question I get is, "Can we work wherever we want?" I want to give my students more seating options than just laying on the floor or sitting at another desk besides their own. I would like to add scoop chairs, bandage chairs and lap trays to my flexible seating choices so that the students have a comfortable space to work and become even more successful than I know they already are going to be.
