A Makerbot 3D printer for my elementary GT classes would engage my students with cutting-edge technology and help to better prepare them for the future. Having a 3D printer would also help me to teach "Design Thinking" and make STEM subjects fun and engaging! Using a 3D printer, the students will become inventors and creators, identifying needs and creating solutions! Learning about animal prosthetics? Design and create your own! Learning about hurricanes and flooding? Design and create a prototype of your invention to stop homes from flooding! Adding a 3D printer to our GT program will surely aid in bringing our imaginations to life!
