There are over 65,000 education apps designed for the iPad. There is an app for every grade level and every learning style. My students are struggling readers. These 6 iPads will not replace the small group instruction they receive in our class; however, it will be used to reinforce the skills we work on. Apps like ABC PocketPhonics and Word Magic can be used to reinforce development of letter sounds and spelling. Students will benefit from using the Scholastic Reading Timer to track their reading minutes. Reading for Details is a great app to strengthen comprehension skills. Adding a technology element to our small group instruction will make a BIG difference to my students’ achievement.
