It goes without saying that today's generation has become more sedentary than our previous. Furthermore, nutrition with its processed options has added to the negative trends we see in our students' healthy choices. It is with confidence, I can envision a school environment where my students will be able to be more in tune with their healthy habits via technological advances, such as activity monitoring tools, like the Fitbit Flex. Being able to monitor their individual activity level is a lifelong skill that will set them in the right direction to an active lifestyle. Also, the data collection features of the Fitbit Flex will serve as an incentive for them to remember to add exercise to their daily routine. Reading and relaxation is also an important aspect of a well-rounded educational experience. Therefore, the bean bags will help connect a relaxed body with a pleasurable reading activity. The students will have an opportunity to reap the benefits of health and boost their reading experience.
