With Chromebooks, students will be able to engage in a daily flipped classroom learning model where they will receive engaging lessons in mathematics that are designed to meet their individual educational needs, giving them more time to practice the actual skills they need to acquire in order to become proficient in math. What is a flipped classroom model? In a traditional math classroom, students receive instruction from a teacher, and then they have to practice those skills independently. In a flipped classroom, students use Chromebooks to learn news skills through Google slides, videos, and graphics. Then students can pick the topic that they would like to practice in Google Classroom. If a student doesn’t need more practice on the current day’s learning, they have the ability to go further or review standards. The flipped classroom model gives students more choice. The flipped classroom model is not new to our class, but since technology is currently being shared by kinder-8th grade, we would like to increase the frequency in which the classroom is flipped from twice a week to daily. By purchasing more Chromebooks, we will be able to achieve this goal.
