Four years ago, our district purchased Chromebooks for our schools to support the move to online state testing. Sadly, even though they have been well-cared for, after four years, these devices are breaking down regularly. We recently learned that our district is 30 million dollars in debt, so new equipment will not be readily available any time soon. This project, therefore, is a basic need for my students to have an equitable education and continue to improve their skills and build on the 21st century skills we have been fostering. Once funded, these projects will allow for my classroom to once again be 1:1 within my walls, so I can continue the work of meeting all learners where they are with differentiated Ed Tech, differentiate our learning targets to allows students to illustrate what they know using technology through essays, presentations, blogs, and video/audio stories, and prepare our students with 21st century learning skills.
