With being only a second year teacher, the resources and supplies I have are limited for my students. Getting these materials will greatly help my students have resources that they can use to further their reading. Knowing how to read helps students be successful in life. Not every student reads on the same pace or on the same level which means you can not use the same materials for every student. In our classroom library we have a very limited supply of books to use. It is hard to get students to want to read without having books that spark their interests. A lot of my students struggle with phonics. Using things like Hot Dots can help them work individually on improving their phonics. I have Hot Dot cards for math already in my supply boxes for students to use, but without the pens these cards can not help students work individually.
