The library at my school serves as the nucleus of our campus. It keeps everyone connected. In recent years, things in the library have stopped functioning or working properly. In particular, the printing machines are all out of date and not functioning. Also, the barcode scanner to check-in or check-out books is not functioning. In order for the library to continue to serve as the business hub of our school, where students can print needed documents for class use and also use other available services that the library offers, such as scanning documents or pictures. Being without a barcode scanner, creates difficulties because students have to write the barcode number on paper when they wish to check out books or other material. This can be time consuming and take away instructional time. Without these essential tools, the library has fallen a step behind. We would like to remain a 21st century state of the art information hub we once were. With these tools being replaced, we will be well on our way.
