These books will greatly help us expand our classroom library and enhance the print-rich classroom that I am working hard to cultivate. It is essential that young learners have access to a wide variety of texts that they can read or can be read to them. Reading a diverse variety of texts aids in language development, as well as informs and inspires students to try new things, help others, and tell their own stories. I want to have a classroom library with books that interest all of my students, and that will inspire them as well as allow them to read independently with confidence. As my students are learning to become strong, fluent readers, they need access a diverse range of books that interest them. Yet they also need books that they can see themselves in. This project will greatly help with building this great resource for my children.
