I work with small groups of students as a Reading Recovery and Assurance of Mastery reading teacher. Our community is a high-poverty area and many of my students come to school lacking the basic skills and life experiences they need to become successful readers. My students have been identified with test scores in the bottom 10% of the grade but do not qualify for Special Ed services. My goal is to instill a love of reading in my students along with the skills and strategies they will need to excel in school and life.

About my class
