Kindergarten is the first school experience for the majority of our students. They are used to being home with their families and are now being asked to sit still and learn their letter, numbers, to read, and to write. We all know that asking these little 5 and 6-year-old students to sit on hard school chairs all day is a lot. The child yoga ball chairs will allow students to be able to move around without having to get up out of their seats. Many students who have sensory issue will benefit greatly from these chairs. It is tough to have to see children who need to move just shut down because they can't sit still any longer. We take many breaks throughout the day to stretch, dance, and move around. These chairs will also be beneficial to our students who need to build core strength, and who go to OT/PT as part of their IEP's. I have been able to see students use these chairs in another district and the results have been amazing! I hope you considered helping fund this project to help Kindergarten students get the best education they possibly can. I wish they had these when I was in school!
