The students have been working hard on fundraising for their first international trip in June. They have learned about Europe in school as well as from the foreign exchange students in their classes. School has a curriculum they need to cover; thus they do not always learn what they find interesting. These books cover a variety of topics that the students chose to learn about. They wanted language phase books so they could communicate with locals; history on the Romans, philosophers and the Medici family so they could understand how the were cities developed; and art books so that when they stand in front of the great cathedrals, monuments and art work they can fully appreciate it all. For the majority of the students, this is the first time they get to leave their small town and see what the world has to offer. For some this is their one and only chance in a life time to travel and I want to make as much impact on their young lives as possible.
