The materials we are asking for will be used daily to implement our independent and small group reading time during our Reader's Workshop. Currently my students have very little resources when it comes to books - especially current series and ones at their levels. We have requested many different series of books to begin building our classroom library and allow our students a choice of what to read. These books will boost not only their reading skills (comprehension, fluency, decoding) but also their love for reading! These materials will be used for independent reading and small group instruction such as book clubs. It is vital that we make our reading time engaging for students and beneficial which having these books will allow us to do so. We envision these materials will be a fundamental part to a successful reading program!
