It is my goal to have diverse book titles in my classroom library at all time to allow my students access to high-quality books that address multiple ideas that may or may not be like their world. In order to do this, I need to get book titles, similar to those in my project, in my classroom that explores multicultural difference, inclusion, racial difference and more. My students are from a very homogeneous community and by reading books about characters that are different from them they are able to learn about how people live similarly and differently from them. Books have a way of opening up dialogue and conversations about difference.
