I teach 7th Grade Science and 8th Grade College and Career Readiness at Brown Middle School in Ravenna, Ohio. We have an awesome staff and a very diverse, low income student population. Our kids ALL receive free breakfast and lunch through a federal grant available to only the LOWEST income level schools is the country. I love my job and strive to incorporate hands on activities into every lesson. There are so many teaching strategies that I could utilize if we just had the technology for the kids to use. Although some of our kids have their own technology, many do not. I find that my lowest level readers do not. I want to be able to create rich and diverse lessons so that ALL my kids can succeed. Our district recently upgraded our tech capabilities with wireless access in our building. I just need the simplest equipment to allow my kids to access the world of information available online.
