My students have already had a taste of being mindful and practicing deep breathing and "brain breaks. The yoga mats will provide a personal, "safe" space for the students to continue to practice: yoga poses, mindfulness and deep breathing exercises. Through the means of mindfulness and these alternative means of self-control, our students will be better able to self-regulate, their emotions. Studies suggest mindfulness, basic yoga and deep breathing practices, not only enables the child with the ability to better control emotions, but also the ability for our students to better focus on academics, becoming more aware not only of themselves, but also those around them.

About my class
