Our main goal is to have our students attend general education class as much of their day as possible. However, times arise that students need work or emotional breaks. Since we have 7 students, teachers and paras must attend classes to assist students, but we do not have enough staff for one on one. At times, students return to our central program room to find no adult around to help them. This system, would allow our phones to be notified that a student has entered our room and in need of assistance and an adult can return and help the student with their need. In doing this, we handle each small problem at the moment it comes up and students become less frustrated. Frustration normally leads to hours long behavioral or emotional issues if not dealt with, and means hours out of the students normal classroom and away from learning.
