I teach 8th-grade science in a pretty rural part of Indiana. We have several students who will never travel further than maybe an hour or so outside of our county and have limited resources at home. These students deserve the best and to have hands-on learning experiences that they can use to see there is an entire world to explore. I try to incorporate as much real-world application in my classroom as I can so that students are exposed to various different work fields that they may not think possible. These experiences will hopefully challenge my students to become lifelong learners and become passionate about something that could one day change the world.
