I would love to share my student’s different cultures, people, and experiences. I would like to show them examples of loving others despite, and because, of their differences. I want to explain to them that we should seek to help others, even if they are different from us.
I am asking for help to purchase books and an iPad.
The books I am planning to purchase would help me with teaching tolerance. The books I have included, such as Frida and The Colors of Us, would expose my students to new ideas, cultures, and people.
I am also asking for one iPad and a protective case. Being able to have this kind of technology in my classroom would create an opportunity for access to educational websites and apps. This will allow my students to learn tolerance in a completely new way. My students will have the opportunity to learn and research factors that make up tolerance and contribute to their own perceptions and judgments of other students. I truly believe teaching tolerance at a young age will lead to a better tomorrow and utilizing technology via an iPad will help us get there.
