These materials will allow the broad range of students access to the same literary content and spark meaningful conversations. There is a class set of the Best of Edgar Allan Poe for our October short story unit. In addition, there are adapted books for a student with severe disabilities so they can access the pop-up, visually stimulating book. The readers below grade level can access the graphic novel e-book written at their level. There are also chapter books that embrace the spirit of Edgar Allan Poe without being scary for one of my students. Infusing technology is a way to increase student engagement. The Amazon Echo is available to answer questions from students so that I can work with small groups uninterrupted and it can read stories aloud to students through the Kindle App.
