My students work with large integers, decimals and rational numbers on a daily basis. If this project is funded, 125 students at our school will be taught how the scientific calculator function keys work by me the teacher, thus speeding up every student's problem solving skills. This project will not take the place of mathematical concepts that will be taught and learned in my classroom. My students know their basic facts. They need a scientific calculator to assist in their accuracy when working with pre-algebra problems. Test scores and student confidence will increase because each kiddo will turn in more accurate work.
