This school year is undoubtedly going to be full of challenges that we all will need to tackle together. I am asking for six compound microscopes so that student investigation is not added to that list of challenges. This year, due to the risk to student, teacher, and family health, we want to cut down on the amount of students sharing the same materials. The addition of six compound miscroscopes in our classroom will allow pairs of students to investigate organisms instead of five to a microscope. We will be able to severely decrease the risk factor as well as still promote student exploration. Now, more than ever, it is imperative to have the tools to teach science through student investigation so we can instill in this generation the drive to ask questions and explore possible solutions. The use of microcopes when studying the life sciences is essential to student-led exploration. We will use them to make inferences about what makes something "living," observe the wonderful world of cells, discover the necessities of life, and so much more. With your help, we can make this year about who is most important-the students! Thank you for your kindness!
