"We're growing our brains so we can be on the Path to College!" You'll hear this coming out of my students' mouths throughout the day, I'm just not sure what language you'll hear it in! My 25 Third Graders are learning in a dual language school. We alternate Spanish and English language instruction depending on the day of the week, the week of the unit, and by what subject we are teaching. The goal? My students will be bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English as they continue their education through college and beyond. My students come from all over the United States, Puerto Rico, and Mexico and are working hard everyday to learn as much as possible, and they're doing it in two languages. I think that makes them 25 brilliant scholars.
