Giving our students access to common classroom technologies through these Chromebooks is the vision of this project. Students will have the opportunity to create, connect, and collaborate with the technological world around them. Hopefully, this will spark excitement and curiosity for learning. Due to living in a rural area, most of the students in our classroom don't have access to computers or internet services. Standardized testing will be administered on computers.
Students will have access to web-based digital curricular content and selected online educational resources. This is a student-centered and learner focused design. Increased technology will allow the teacher to design differentiated lessons for struggling students and enrichment for higher achieving students.
Students will read high-interest novels integrated with science, social studies, history and engage in online virtual literature circles to discuss, analyze and interact with the texts. Students will learn how to express and interpret information and ideas with students outside their classroom. Students will learn skills to become productive citizens and life-long learners.
