The tablets we are purchasing will serve as a choice during our independent literacy center time. The scholars will have the opportunity to choose to listen to stories or play literacy games to enhance their learning. Having this engaging center will allow my students to stay busy on a fun, relevant task while I teach other small groups guided reading. The books we are looking to purchase will be added to our classroom library to provide more culturally relevant, high quality texts for students to read. They will also serve as read alouds for social-emotional learning lessons as well as mentor texts for writing lessons.
