One of the biggest and most exciting projects in my first grade classroom is when my students become "authors". They have the opportunity to create, write, revise, edit, illustrate and publish their own books. Having two laptops in the classroom will help my students work in their projects on a daily basis at their own pace. The laptops will facilitate my students' ability to work on their drafts as they can easily make corrections to their stories. This project will also give my students the opportunity to be introduced to typing/keyboarding skills as they write their books. It will be easier to revise their work as they share their stories with their classmates. I am excited to see my students as they publish their first book and become authors.
