Our grades four, five, and six teachers have incorporated a STEAM rotation this year with classes that promote the arts: Drama and Visual Arts. We are in the process of stocking our brand new Art Studio for use by classroom teachers, PTA-funded programs, and after-school classes. Clay projects so far have included coil pots, stylus clay tablets (by students studying Mesopotamia), wind chimes, and “stones” with sayings pressed into the clay with rubber stamps. “There is no greater integrity, no greater goal achieved, than an idea articulately expressed through something made with your hands.” John Maeda, President, Rhode Island School of Design
