Students in science courses at our school are often tasked with modeling and designing solutions to specific problems. Student engagement becomes limited when their solutions are only fictional. If students had access to a 3D printer, they could model their solutions virtually as well as physically. The Polar 3D printer is a perfect option for my classroom due to its ease of use and its Chromebook capability. Wasco High School has a 1 to 1 ratio with students to chromebooks and that would allow every student to have access to the 3D printer.(with supervision) Science learning could be taken to a new level and we would better be able to teach the Next Generation Science Standards with technology like this.
