Using sensory items as a tool in school will help my students stay calm and focused, which will lead to better classroom performance. The weighted lap pads and wiggle cushions are a discreet and functional sensory accommodation that will help them self-regulate enabling them to function on a daily basis. These lap pads and wiggle cushions are some of the few items these types of children generally gravitate to because deep pressure soothes their body, especially if they have high energy or sensory seeking behavior. Unlike a weighted blanket, weighted lap pads and wiggle cushions are good for school, they are much easier to carry around and are less noticeable while students are seated at their desk.
